Winter Festival
The 38th Annual Winter Festival begins on Saturday, December 7, 2024. The Festival begins at 3:00 PM at the Chain of Parks in Downtown Tallahassee. It will last until 10:00 PM. The Lighting Ceremony will take place at 6:00 PM on the parade announcer platform at Bloxham Park on South Monroe Street.
The Market will have food vendors, arts and crafts merchants, acting, dancing, and music on multiple stages - all set under sparkling lights. There’s also a children’s area with activities and movies at Kleman Plaza starting at 6:00 PM.
The Candy Cane Lane opens at 3:00 PM as well. Featuring a short stroll of McCarty Park, filled with lights and holiday decorations.
The Jingle Bell Run/Walk will occur at 6:15 PM. Sign-ups are online until December 6 and onsite on December 7. The run is 1.53 miles in the downtown area. Packets will be at the Myers Park Office at 1201 Myers Park Drive. Day of packet pickup can be done at the Capital City Bank parking lot at the Corner of South Monroe Street and Tennessee Street from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
The Parade begins at 7:15 PM along Monroe Street. Parade floats will be decorated with lights and the parade will end with the entrance of Santa Claus to Tallahassee.
Please note that many roads downtown will be closed for the Festival:
Road closures along Adams Street and the Chain of Parks will begin at 7:00 AM on Dec. 7.
Event staging will take place on Monroe Street from Brevard to Tennessee streets with intersections closed in the area from 4:00 - 11:00 PM
The Holiday Parade and Jingle Bell Run routes will be closed from 5:00 - 11:00 PM
Detour roads will include Brevard, Bronough, Gadsden, and Gaines streets.
