Highlights

Railroad Square Art Park is Tallahassee's Arts & Culture district. Hosting more than 50 studios, galleries and small shops, Railroad Square is the creative haven of many Tallahassee artists and other small businesses. Railroad Square operates at its own quaint pace most of the month and then puts on the city's most exciting "First Friday Gallery Hop" on the first Friday of each month.

Friday, August 02:

First Friday is happening at Railroad Square Art Park. It begins at 6:00 PM and ends at 9:00 PM. Entry is free, food trucks are on premises and all the shops and galleries are open late.

Thomasville, Georgia also hosts a First Friday event from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. You’re allowed to ‘sip and stroll’ the shops and Bleu Burden will perform at The Ritz Amphitheater starting at 8:00 PM.


Saturday, August 03:

Tallahassee Farmer’s Markets are open downtown and also the frenchtown heritage market.

At 10:00 AM, the ‘August Skies over Tallahassee’ is showing at the Downtown Digital Dome Theater and Planetarium (Challenger Learning Center) for free. It’s a live planetarium show presented by the Tallahassee Astronomical Society.

At 7:00 PM, there is a roller derby game between Tallahassee Legiskators and Deland’s Thunder City Derby Sirens. Tickets are available on the website and at the door.

The Crucible

Sunday, August 04:

The Crucible is being presented by The Phoenix Theatre in Thomasville, Georgia. This is the last run of this performance. It’s showing at the Storefront Theater (Broad Street).

The upcoming week, August 05-08:

Wednesday: Midtown Reader is showing it’s third installment of it’s “Page-2-Screen” series. This week’s film/book combo is Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The showing is at Waterworks Bar, starting at 8:00 PM.

Thursday: Food Truck Thursday at Lake Ella is happening from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM with musical act Finn and the Kingsnakes.
