October 2022 Events (in Tallahassee)

Various Farmer’s Markets occur around town all month long, including the Southside Farmers Market.

October 7, 2022: The One Week Boutique will begin on October 7 and go until October 9. General admission is free, and parking is free. Early shopping tickets cost $10-75 beginning on October 5. The One Week Boutique is a seasonal kid’s consignment sale.



First Friday at Railroad Square Art Park



JJ Grey and Mofro at the Capital City Amphitheater beginning at 7 PM. Tickets start at $30.

Mr. Sipp (the Mississippi Blues Child) will play at the Bradfordville Blues Club beginning at 7:30 PM. Tickets begin at $25.




October 8, 2022: The Johnnie Lee Brown (JLB) Championship Golf Tournament begins at 8 AM at the Jake Gaither Golf Course (801 Bragg Drive).

FSU Symphony Orchestra will perform Jean Sibelius’s Symphony No. 1 and the Vaughn Williams Tuba Concerto featuring Dr. Justin Benavidez on the tuba. The concert begins at 7:30 PM at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. Tickets are free for students and $10 for adults.



Havana’s Reggae Fest will begin at 1:30 PM at the F5 Farm Center in Quincy. Tickets begin at $20.


For Cats Sake Annual Fundraiser, hosted by the Feline Advocates of Leon County (FALC) will be held at the American Legion Post 13 at Lake Ella. It will begin at 4 PM and go until 7 PM. Tickets begin at $25. There will be live music, painting, door prizes, raffles, food, and a cash bar. FSU AcaBelles and the Rhys Bennett Trio will perform. FALC is affiliated with Fat Cat Books and Fat Cat Cafe.


Second Saturday at the Grove Museum which is for children eight and younger. This month’s theme is about mapmaking. It’s a free event and begins at 11 AM.


Govt Mule performs at the Capital City Ampitheater beginning at 8 PM. Tickets start at $30.

October 9, 2022: Moon Over Maclay featuring Scotty Barnhart, jazz trumpeter and director of Grammy winning Count Bassie Orchestra. The event begins at 6 PM with tickets needing to be purchased in advance ($10 for students and $25 for adults).

Tallahassee Youth Orchestra Fall Concert begins at 3 PM with tickets starting at $5. The concert will be held at Opperman Music Hall.

The 24th Annual Octoberfest presented by Tallahassee Elder Services. It beings at 4 PM at Capital City Amphitheater in Cascades Park. Tickets begin at $25. There will be local craft beer, German food, games, and an Oompah Band. Proceeds will go to fund programs like Meals on Wheels.


October 13, 2922:

Wine by the Pool with Hummingbird Wine Bar will happen at Goodwood Musem and Gardens at 5:30 PM. Tickets start at $25.

Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue with Special Guest Big Freedia. The concert begins at 7 PM at the Capital City Amphitheater. Tickets begin at $30.

October 14, 2022: Humortals at Capital City Video Lounge. The event begins at 9 PM. Tickets cost $10.


Friday Night Block Party featuring Adam Doleac beginning 5 PM in Collegetown.


The Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra presents “Fantasy and Folktale.” Beginning at 8 PM at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. Tickets start at $36 dollars ($10 for students during rush time).


The first day of the Panama City Oktoberfest begins on October 14. There will be several breweries, including Tally’s Proof Brewery.

October 15, 2022: Annual Plant Sale at Goodwood Gardens and Museum begins at 9 AM.


The Mickee Faust Club is performing The Cursed House of Ravensmadd, a musical described as Jane Eyre meets Rocky Horror Picture Show crossed with Monty Python and shades of What We Do in the Shadows. Tickets are $15-20.


The Fuzzy Pineapple Festival featuring Arts and Crafts. This is a free admission at 1205 South Adams Street beginning at 10 AM. There will be food, music, activities, and shopping.

The last day of the Tallahassee Balloon Festival is October 15. This is a free event at the Fairgrounds.

October 16, 2022: Annual Farm Tour begins on October 15th and ends on the 16th. There are 40 farms available to visit. This is a free event, but visitors are encouraged to bring their own cooler, GPS, and water.

October 19, 2022: Wonderful Wednesday featuring the Afro-Nyota, the pan-African ensemble from FSU. This begins at 6 PM at Goodwood Museum and Gardens. Tickets begin at $5.


October 20, 2022: Thomasville Entertainment Foundation presents “An Evening in Paris,” a French chamber music concert. Tickets are $15-38 and the event will be held at the Thomasville Center for the Arts.

October 21, 2022: Tallahassee Museum’s Zoobilee 2022 will take place at the Museum (3945 Museum Drive). It will begin at 7:00 PM. Costumes are encouraged with the theme being “Howl at the Moon.” There will be live music from Upside Avenue, an open bar, and food from local restaurants. Tickets are $45-50. You MUST be 21+ in age to attend.


Special Tour of the “Vote for Me! Historic Campaigning in Florida” let by the exhibit curator Mr. John Clark. This tour is limited to 13 people (reservations required).


October 22, 2022: Tallahassee Sundown Series’ presents The Filthy Six with Tocomos Mas beginning at 7 PM. This will be held at the Capital City Amphitheater in Cascades Park. It is a free event.

October 24, 2022: John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band, part of Opening Nights, will perform at Goodwood Museum and Gardens at 7:30 PM. Admission is $40.

October 28, 2022: Rickey Smiley and Friends at the Donald L. Tucker Civil Center. It begins at 8 PM (doors open at 7 PM). Tickets are $80+ and $10 parking in the lot.

Friday Night Block Party featuring Drew Green beginning 5 PM in Collegetown.

FAMU’s Homecoming Game is on October 28, with events beginning at 10 AM. Later, Frenchtown Rising begins at 6 PM.


FSU Circus will perform a Halloween Show at the Big Tent. There will a cash bar for alumni. The show begins at 7 PM. Tickets are $10-15.

The Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra will perform a free Halloween concert, the Spooktacular, at Cascades Park from 6 PM to 9 PM. There will be trick or treating, food trucks, and costumes.

October 29th, 2022: Halloween Night Disc Golf at Tom Brown Park. Beginning at 6:30 PM (with a 5:30 check in) for $10.00. A costume contest will be held at 6:00 PM.

Bourbon Street 2022/FAMU Homecoming begins at 8 PM with tickets beginning at $15. This will be at Potbellys.


October 30, 2022: Trek Tallahassee Halloween Ride with Trek Bicycle Tallahassee. Starting at 5 PM at Cascades Park. This is a free event.


Queer’s Maker Market, hosted by the Queer Tallahassee Collective, will be held at 926 Bar and Grill starting at 11 AM.


FSU’s Opera will be performing Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro at 3 PM at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall.


Meadows Soccer Compex will host a 3x3 Halloween Tournament with prizes. Early registration is $150.
