Friday, November 01:

Tonight is the last night of the “Many Lives of Andrew Young” at the Thomasville Center for the Arts. Andrew Young is a civil rights hero, congressman, ambassador, mayor, philanthropist, and American icon. The gallery is open from 10:00 to 4:00 PM.

Today is the first day of the Friends of the Library book sale at the main library from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The Rattler Art Fair at Foster Tanner Fine Art Building begins at noon.

First Friday at Railroad Square begins at 6:00 PM. The roads around the area are closed for pedestrian safety, so be aware of parking and walking.

Frenchtown Rising at North Macomb Street and Georgia Street. Frenchtown Rising happens before every FAMU home game at 6:00 PM. Tonight is the homecoming party!

Hang Tough’s Sporting Clays Tournament begins at 9:30 AM.

The Block Party at Bannerman begins at 6:00 PM.

Common Ground Books will host White Mouse Theater’s production of Rocky Horror Picture Show starting at 7:00 PM. Costumes are encouraged, and concessions will be sold.

Saturday, November 02:

Today is the last day of the Friends of the Library book sale. It begins at 10:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM at the main library.

Today is the last day of the “Operation Market Garden: A Bridge Too Far” exhibit at the Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum. The museum is in Carrabelle and the hours for the gallery are 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

FAMU’s Homecoming game will be part of the Homecoming event week. It will begin at 4:00 PM at Bragg Stadium.

The Tallahassee Senior Center is hosting “FOUR Artists, FOUR Perspectives” Artist Talk and Art Reception starting at 5:00 PM. Eluster Richardson, Wendy Devarieux, Linda Pelc, and Mark Fletcher will talk with moderator Amanda Karioth Thompson.

Esposito’s Annual Ladies Night begins at 5:00 PM. There will be shopping, deals on holiday ornaments, charcuterie boards, music, and a raffle.

Jamie Quatro will discuss her newest book, Two-Step Devil, at Midtown Reader at 6:30 PM.

LCSO and Secure Records Solution will have a community Shred Day. LCSO wants to educate the public and to curb the rising rate of identity theft

Friday, November 08:

The Women’s Club of Tallahassee is having its annual Holiday Happenings Show and Sale starting at 11:00 AM.

Tharpe Street Fall Festival begins at 6:00 PM.

Lunch and Learn at the Florida Historic Capital Museum at 11:30 AM. Honorable John Phelps, former Clerk of the Florida House of Representatives and Staff Director for the Senate Rules Committee, will give a talk. RSVP to the free event.

Goodwood Museum and Gardens hosts a Preservation Wine Walk at 5:30 PM. Tickets are $40 per person and include a wide variety of wines.

Bond Community Healthcare is having its 40-Year Mission Celebration at Mission San Luis at 6:30 PM.

Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias will perform his comedy show, “Don’t Worry, Be Fluffy,” at the Donald L. Tucker’s Civic Center at 8:00 PM.

University Singers will perform their first concert at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $7-10.

Blue Tavern will host the Saylor Dollar Trio at 8:00 PM

St. Mark’s Brewfest begins at noon. Designated Driver tickets are $10 while general admission tickets are $30.

Jeezy and Muni Long with friends will be at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center at 8:00 PM.

Big Bend Community Orchestra will perform their Fall Concert at 3:30 PM at Turner Auditorium.

Harvest Moon Market at Tally Print Studio starts at 5:00 PM.

The American Legion will have Gainsville Band, Cajun Gumbo, play at 7:30 PM. Admission is $10. There will also be dancing organized by the Tally Contra-Dance.

Sunday, November 10:

Tallahassee Film Society is showing La Cocina, directed by Alonso Ruizpalacios.

Bicentennial Weekend Spectacular ends today at Cascades Park at 8:00 AM

The School of Theatre at Florida State is showing The Wolves, a production by Sarah DeLappe. The play is a Pulitzer-nominated funny and unflinching portrait of American adolescence. This is the last show; the run begins on November 01.

TPain will perform at Adderley Amphitheater at 7:00 PM. This is sold out.

The Queer Makers Market will be at 926 Bar and Grille at 11:00 AM.

 

Monday, November 11:


The Veterans Day Parade and VetFest Concert will start at 10:45 a.m., and the 5K race will begin at 8:00 a.m.

CrossFit Tally is hosting a Fitness Fundraiser to Support Veterans starting at 9 AM. Registration is $35.


Tuesday, November 12:

The Tallahassee Senior Center for the Arts is starting its “Paint Like Monet” Art Workshop. This is a five-week class.

Best of Tallahassee’s evening gala begins at 6:00 PM at The Moon. Tickets are $75-115.

The Grove Museum hosts Plein Air, a one-day painting workshop, at 10:00 AM. The cost is $10.

Tyler Hubbard, with Alana Springsteen, will perform at The Moon at 8:00 PM (doors open at 7:00 PM). Tickets are $45-60.

FSU’s Little Dinner Series: Drive into the 50s will occur at the Dedman College of Hospitality at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $80.

Haute Art is hosting a class about making your very own glass ornaments at Lake Jackson Town Center. The class is $50 and you can make two ornaments.

The Village Square hosts a crash course on how to navigate tense conversations at the holiday table at 10:00 AM called “Don’t Be A Turkey: Table Talks Tips.” Admission is $5.

A guided forest therapy walk at Goodwood Museum and Gardens begins at 10:00 AM. Admission is $30.

Tallahassee Ducks Unlimited hosts a conservation dinner at Phipps Farm at 4:00 PM. Tickets begin at $30.

The 47th Annual Panacea Blue Crap Festival begins at 10:00 AM. Admission is $2.

Blue Tavern hosts its monthly Irish Jam Session. Anyone who wants to join in just needs to bring their instruments and anyone wanting to listen just needs to bring themselves. The session begins at 4:00 PM.

The Wine House on Market Street hosts “A Night of Bubbles: Champagne and Sparkling Wine Event,” which begins at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $50.

Masterpiece Glass is having its second workshop on making glass ornaments. A ticket is $75 to make around five ornaments. All tools and materials will be provided.

The Tallahassee Foodies are doing their Martini Mile which depending on ticket type, will have three martinis and food. Tickets are $35-60 and are 21+.

The third Saturday Hike of Leon Sinks begins at 10:00 AM. There is a park entrance fee of $5.

Cabers and Cèilidh: A Two-Part Scottish Experience begins at 4:00 PM at Tom Brown Park and Oology Power Mill. At 10 AM, 25x Caber Toss World Champion Francis Brebner will be at Tom Brown Park and attendees can learn how to toss a caber. Later, at Oology Brewing Powermill, the Tallahassee Irish Step Dancer, Sycamore Assembly Line Dancers, and the Tallahassee Pipes and Drums will perform. Tips will go towards Team Tallahassee at the new Highland Games.


Sunday, November 17:

Tallahassee Film Society is showing “Things Will Be Different,” directed by Michael Felker at the IMAX theater.

The last show of Theatre Tallahassee’s production of “Funny Girl” is today. The run begins on October 31, so there are many days to choose from. Tickets are $25.

The November Marauders Market begins at noon at Oolgy Power Mill.

The Lofty Pursuit Meet and Greet, an event by Tallahassee Nerds and Geeks, meets at 4:00 PM.

Dr. Patrick Dunnigan and the University Wind Ensemble will perform at Ruby Diamond Auditorium at 7:30 PM. Tickets vary between free to $10.

Oyster City Tallahassee hosts Beer-Go at 6:30 PM.

Michelle with Namaste Spiritual Healing will lead a guided meditation at Native Spirits Gems and Jewelry at 6:40 PM; RSVP is preferred.
