Tallahassee’s Farmer’s Markets are ongoing throughout the year
Thursday, June 03: Leon County Library’s Virtual History Book Club begins at 6:00 PM. The book being discussed is The Vagabonds: The Story of Henry Ford and Thomas Edison's Ten-Year Road Trip by Jeff Guinn.
City Declaration ay 3 PM at City Hall celebrating PRIDE.
Friday, June 04: A ballet performance of Cinderella will happen at Southwood Plantation’s Ball House (3255 Hemingway Boulevard). It will begin at 7:00 PM. Tickets begin at $20-40 with an option to watch digitally. Tickets must be reserved in advanced. Masks must be worn. The performance is being put on by the Ballet Arts Conservatory of Tallahassee.
Thomasville’s Sip and Stroll occurs every first Friday of the month. Many of the shops will stay open with the bars and restaurants staying open until 10:00 PM. A concert will happen at the Ritz Amphitheater from 8-10 PM. Armbands are needed in order to drink the beer or wine publicly.
First Friday at Railroad Square (618 McDonnell Dr.) starts up again around 5:30/6:00 PM. Shops stay open later for the event. There is also music and food for purchase.
Food Truck Friday at the Community Center on Grove Park Drive begins at 5:00 PM.
Saturday, June 05: Leon County Library’s Virtual Teen Book Club will be held online, at 2:30 PM. This month’s book is Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. Next month’s book will be Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi.
Infinity Con, beginning at 10:00 AM and ending on Sunday. This will take place at the Civic Center. Tickets are $12-17.
The Battle Lions will play the New Orleans Jesters at Gene Cox Stadium (601 Paul Russell Rd). Tickets are $7 but kids 12 and under are free. The Battle Lions are Tallahassee’s soccer club.
Sunday, June 06: Tomato Festival at Goodwood Museum beginning at 2:00 PM. This is put on as a fundraiser for the Red HIlls Small Farm Alliance (a 501c3 non-profit meant to support local food producers). Other activities at the event include lawn games for all ages, live music, a farmer’s market, raffles, a cake walk, and tomato contests. Food and drink stalls will also be available. Tickets range between $5-25, for various levels (including raffles). Additional raffle tickets cost $5.

Tuesday, June 08: Queeries in YA, presented by the Leon County Library, is a LGBTQ+ virtual discussion about great books in Young Adult fiction with LGBTQIA characters and voices. A pride bag can be picked up at any branch location this month. Registration is required and the event begins at 4:00 PM.
Wednesday, June 09: The 44th Annual Southern Watercolor Juried Exhibition is ongoing until the end of next week (June 18th). The three-storied gallery can be viewed at Gadsden Art Center and Museum (13 N. Madison Street, Quincy FL). Entry is $5 for non-members.
Wonderful Wednesday at the Historic Roller Rink begins at 6:00 PM. The Adventures of Annabelle Lyn will be the musical performer. Food trucks and wine will be available for purchase. The recently improved historic roller rink next to the café is the setting for the event; there are some tables available, but guests are advised to bring your own chair or blanket. The life size chess and checker set will available for play. Tickets are $5.
Goodwood Museum is partnering with AARP for a game night. The event will begin at 4:30 PM. This is a free event but registration is required.
Thursday, June 10: Veronica Swift, as part of FSU Opening Nights, will perform at The Moon at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $45-60.
Tallahassee Film Society presents the Florida Animation Festival, a three day event showcasing the best from over 900+ submissions. Thursday event is “Southern Delights” and costs $5. The showcase begins at 7:00 PM.
Friday, June 11: Pas de Vie Ballet is putting on their showcase, “Spotlight on Dance” at Turner Auditorium beginning at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $25.
Food Truck Fun begins at 5:00 PM at Maclay Gardens (3540 Thomasville Road). This is a free event with park admission ($4-6). There will also be a concert.
The Florida Animation Festival continues at 7:00 PM with “Era Animato.”
Saturday, June 12: Pulse Massacre Remembrance at the Florida State Capitol at 7:00 PM.
Goat Yoga with Crystal will begin at 10:00 AM at Goat Farm. The price for a session is $22-25. Registration is required.
Once Great Estate will be playing at the Blue Tavern (1206 North Monroe St.) at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $5.
Florida’s Animation Festival is continuing with the “Rated G for Great,” beginning at 10:00 AM. Tickets are $5 per person.
LeMoyne Galleries is hosting their Muffins and Mimosas at 11:00 AM. While munching on muffins and sipping on mimosas, you can view Tallahassee Watercolor Society’s Tri-State Exhibit. It is free for members and $5 for non-members.
Brett Wellman and The Stone Cold Blues Band will be performing at Bradfordville Blues Club at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $20-25.
The 30th Annual Carrabelle Riverfront Festival begins at 10:00 AM in Downtown Carrabelle (105 US 98). There will be food, music, and over fifty vendors.
Sunday, June 13: Meetup at Tom Brown Park Dog Park for a “Queer the Dog Park” at 10:00 AM.
Rafael Pondé will be performing at Jan’s Gallery beginning at 6:30 PM. He will be doing two sets of Brazilian music.
Monday, June 14: The Queen’s English, part of the Library Lecture series, takes place virtually beginning at 6:30 PM. This is in conjunction with other Pride events in the city. Registration is required for the free event.
Tuesday, June 15: Midtown Reader is hosting Sasha Issenberg in a virtual conversation about his book, The Engagement: America’s Quarter-Century Struggle Over Same-Sex Marriage. This begins at 7:00 PM and registration is required.
Wednesday, June 16: JC and the Lab Cats are performing at Bird’s (325 N Bronough Street) beginning at 6:00 PM.
Midtown Reader is hosting Melissa Scholes Young (THE HIVE) in conversation with Kerri Arsenault, a virtual event. Registration is required. They will be discussing The Hive, Young’s book.
Thursday, June 17: FSU’s Opening Nights is showcasing An Evening with Billy Dean at the Moon beginning at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $35-50.
621’s Literary Salon begins at 6:30 PM. Any submissions are due the weekend before the Salon and range from short stories, songs, poems, chapters, and more.
The mystery book club, hosted by the Leon County Library is meeting virtually at 6:30 PM. Registration via zoom is required. The month’s theme is looser, with the only requirement being books that feature LGBTQIA+ characters or were written by LGBTQIA+ authors.
Friday, June 18: Comedy Night at 621 Gallery is beginning at 6:00 PM. The suggested donation is $5 and the theme is PRIDE.
Becky’s New Car, a new production by Theatre Tallahassee, is showing until June 27. The play begins at 8:00 PM.
Saturday, June 19: Christopher Buckley’s exhibition at the Wiregrass Gallery (130 East Jackson Street Thomasville GA) will be ongoing throughout the month.
Joy-teenth, a festival by HalisiAfrica Boutique and Café, celebrating Juneteenth. There will be music, food, vendors, and performances.
Juneteenth will also be celebrated at Cascades Park beginning at 12:00 PM/Noon. There will be music, performances, and food vendors. This is being put on by Capital City Culture Community Outreach, a local nonprofit.
LeMoyne Art Gallery (125 N. Gadsden St) is having their Summer Trunk Sale beginning at 8:00 AM.
Sunday, June 20: Gospel Fest, at the Capital City Amphitheater begins at 3:00 PM. Grammy-nominated artist Todd Dulaney will perform along with the FWPC praise team, local choirs, and dance teams. This is a free event but reservations are needed.
Monday, June 21: FAMU’s Pride Movie Night will occur at AMC 20, showing the movie Moonlight.
Tuesday, June 22: Tallahassee Film Society’s French Shorts can be screened virtually all month long. This includes the Oscar nominated animated short Genius Loci and César Award winners And Then the Bear and So What if the Goats Die?
Wednesday, June 23: Each Wednesday this month, Hearth and Soul is partnering with CaliFlo Yoga Collective for beginner yoga on the patio. The event begins at 5:00 PM. Class size will be limited so reservations are needed.
Thursday, June 24: The Full Moon Climb begins at 7:00 PM. This will be at the Crooked River Lighthouse in Carrabelle, Florida. If weather permits, there will be a firepit. Music from Kevin Andrew and the Rockulla Performers. The climb costs $3-6, and Covid protocols are in place (so only one group can be climbing at a time). Reservations are required for a climb.
Friday, June 25: The Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic is ongoing this week. This event takes place at Sandestin, with prizes awarded for certain weight.

Saturday, June 26: The 23rd Annual Artopia, by Big Bend Cares is occurring. The event begins at 6:30 PM. Tickets are limited due to the pandemic.

The Sundown Concert Series at the Capital Cascades Amphitheatre begins at 7:00 PM with a concert by Revival and Rachel Hillman. Admission is free, but a “ticket” needs to be purchased on Eventbrite. There will be no food or drink provided; masks need to be worn.
Sunday, June 27: Beginning on Saturday, the Tallahassee Model Railroad is having its 30th Annual Show and Sale. It will be at the North Florida Fairgrounds. Tickets are $10 for anyone ages 13+.
Monday, June 28: “Truman and Tennessee: An Intimate Conversation” begins its run at the Tallahassee Film Society. It’s about the 40 year friendship of Truman Capote and Tennessee Williams. It will run through July as well.
