A performance by the Southern Shakespeare Company will accompany a show on the planetarium screen. A ticket is $30.00 and includes one drink (a shimmering COSMOpolitan cocktail). Northeast (Bruce J. Host) Branch Public Library hosts the General Lafayette story hour. This is a free event for children (ages 4-7) and their adults, put on by the Fort San Luis Chapter of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). This will be presented in English and French.

The Main Library is having a Seed Library Kickoff starting at 10:00 AM, where anyone can pick up seeds and learn about how to plant their garden. This is a free event.

Sunday, August 04, 2024: The Museum of Florida History has created a rendition of Florida’s 1824 Capitol Building. This building was a log house based on design plans gathered through research. A rendition of the Capitol has been created through other “Centennial” events. The rendition can be seen at Lake Jackson Branch Library until August 30th. This is a free exhibit.

The Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum is showing an exhibit, “Honoring the Mighty Eigth Air Force,” which will run until the end of the month. There is no charge for admission, but donations are always appreciated.
Tuesday, August 27, 2024: The last week to see the 36th Annual Juried Art Exhibition at Gadsden Art Center begins today. Seventy-seven artists are on show, with over one hundred works on display. Tickets are free to members/children under 12, $3.00 for students, and $5 for everyone else.
History at High Noon at the Union Bank Museum starts at Noon. The Florida Historic Capitol Museum’s Director Tiffany Baker and Director of Research and Programming Rachel Basan Porter will share some of the special stories related to Florida’s Capitol buildings.
