Sunday, August 01: Struggle Jennings, musician and grandson of Waylon Jennings, is performing at Warrior on the River beginning at 6:30. Tickets are $20-25. Also performing is Brianna Harness, Caitlyyne Curtis, DJ Butch, and Rye.

Monday, August 02: Virtual Gentle Chair Yoga from Goodwood Museum and Gardens. This begins at 4:30 PM and is free but registration is needed.

Tuesday, August 03: Kiss It Slow and Simple Yoga, meant for beginners or slower adult practitioners, will be held at Fellowship Presbyterian Church. A donation of $5 is recommended. The class begins at 5 PM.

Wednesday, August 04:

Thursday, August 05: Trivia with Hank at the Crum Box Gastgarden begins at 7:30 PM . Tickets are $20. There are five rounds with ten questions per round. The first place contestant wins a $25 tab. This event has limited availability, so pre-registration is required. Masks are required.

The Wine House on Market Street is hosting a German and France Summer Wine tasting. The event begins at 6 PM. Tickets cost $20 and reservations are required.

Friday, August 06: First Fridays at Railroad Square Art Park begins at 6:00 PM.

Brady Seals is performing at Warrior on the River beginning at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $15-35. Seals was a member of the Little Texas band, he will also be joined by Mercy Shine.

Domi Station is hosting a First Friday/Happy Hour. This event is free and begins at 5 PM.

The Fourth Micro Theatre Festival will begin at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $18 -20. The plays being performed are all written by Hispanic playwrights, performed in English. There will be live music from Panayotis (Paddy) League) and Charles Santiago. Food will be available to purchase from Tally Arepas.

Saturday, August 07: LeMoyne Art Gallery is hosting their Muffins and Mimosas, beginning at 11 AM. The subject under discussion is “Color Theory: An Exploration of Pigments:” The cost is $5 for non-members and free for members.

Over Under Luau and Pig Roast begins at 3 PM and continues into the night. Tickets are $15-30 for different tier options. There will be live music, drinking, and food.

Capital City Children’s Day begins at 10 AM. There will be vendors, contests, and giveaways. There is a focus on STEM based activities for children. This is a free event.

Adult Field Day, benefiting Hang Tough Foundation, begins at 5 PM. Events will be familiar to those who participated in elementary school field days. Tickets cost $150.

The Peaches and Sunshine Music Festival, featuring Anthony Williams, will begin at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $14-50.

Real Men Wear Pink Reveal Party benefiting the American Cancer Society. Tickets are $75-500 .

Sunday, August 08: Taste of Africa Brunch from Halisi Africa Boutique. This begins at 11 AM and tickets cost $25.

 

Monday, August 09 and Tuesday, August 10:

Wednesday, August 11: Goodwood’s Got Game Night begins at 4:30 PM. This is a free event, but registration is required.

Thursday, August 12: Trivia with Hank at the Crum Box Gastgarden begins at 7:30 PM. The theme of this night is “The Florida Edition.” Tickets are $20 per table with the winner receiving a $25 bar tab.

Friday, August 13: LVVRS (“Lovers”) is performing at the Warrior on the River beginning at 8 PM. Tickets are $7-10.

Comedy Night at Crum Box Gastrgarden, featuring Ben Brainard. Tickets are $60 (this is one table for six)

Southern Shakespeare Company is hosting a Movie Night at Goodwood Museum and Gardens. There will be a showing of A Midsummer Nights Dream at 8:30 PM. Tickets are $5-15.

Saturday, August 14: The 16th Annual Parrothead Phrenzy at the Moon begins at 6:30 PM. This event benefits the Alzheimer’s Project. A Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band, Jason Webb and the Caribbean Chillers, will perform. There will also be two auctions (online catalog), a buffet, games, costume contests, and drinks. Tickets are $30 and are available online and at the Alzheimer’s Project’s office.

Your Captain Speaking’s EP Release Party will be held at Warrior on the River beginning at 7 PM. Admission is $5-10.

Second Saturdays at The Center/Live Under the Oaks begins at 4PM. There are workshops, open studios, playtime, and concerts. Bring your own blankets and chairs. There will be live music from Kimmer Rowe, The Wall Street Groove ft. Iborya Jones, and Lee Pilcher and the Band. There will also be food trucks and beer. Adults are $15, kids 12 and under are free.

K-Drama Meet Up hosted by Cosmic Con and LeRoy Collins Library will meet at Cascades Park at 1 PM. This is a free event, participants are encouraged to bring their own drinks, blankets, and snacks.

Southern Shakespeare Company is hosting a Shakespeare Uncorked/Movie Night at Goodwood Museum and Gardens. There will be a showing of A Midsummer Nights Dream at 7 PM. Dress code is all white. There will be dinner from three local chefs with custom cocktails and original sours from Ology. Tickets are $75.

The 12th Annual Mac Crutchfield Swim Clinic and Dinner with Olympians begins at 6 AM. Tickets are $20-2,000. Athletes Ryan Lochte, Caeleb Dressel, Elizabeth Beisel, Khader Baqlah, Anna Pold Dehner, Sherridon Dressel and Nils Wich-Glasen will be in attendance. This event is also in celebration of Mac’s life.

Sunday, August 15: Southern Shakespeare Company is hosting a Movie Night at Goodwood Museum and Gardens. There will be a showing of A Midsummer Nights Dream at 2 PM. Tickets are $5-15.

Monday, August 16: Virtual Gentle Chair Yoga at Goodwood Museum. This is a free event but registration is required. It begins at 4:30 PM.

Tuesday, August 17:

Wednesday, August 18: The deadline for the Night Prowl at the Tallahassee Museum. Tickets are $10-13.

The Grove Museum’s Community Book Club is reading “Hitting a Straight Lick with a Crooked Stick: Stories from the Harlem Renaissance” by Zora Neale Hurston. The book can be purchased for 10% off at Midtown Reader, at their counter. This is a free event and it begins at 6 PM. This is a virtual event, so registration is required.

Thursday, August 19:

Friday, August 20: Outdoor Headphones Yoga at Goodwood Gardens and Museum. It begins at 10 AM and tickets cost $16. This class is fine for beginners with some knowledge of Vinyasa Yoga positions.

The Shine Tallahassee Shindig will begin at 6:30 PM. There will be performances and an auction. Tickets are $10.

Saturday, August 21: Tallahassee Museum’s Night Prowl begins at 8 PM and goes until 9:15 PM. This tour focuses on nocturnal animals at the Museum. Tickets are $10-13.

Publix’s Apron Cooking School is offering a class on Spanish Wine and Tapas for $30. The event begins at 6 PM.

The Comedy Lockdown Tour will be stopping by Signature Lounge at 8 PM. Tickets are $12.

Monday, August 23: Virtual Chair Yoga at Goodwood Museum begins at 4:30 PM. This is a free event but registration is needed.

Tuesday, August 24: One Night of Queen, performed by Gary Mullen, will start at 7:30 PM at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. Tickets are $30-45.

Truffle Making Class at Sweet Cacao Chocolates in Thomasville, Georgia. The class begins at 7 PM, there will be snacks, wine, and everyone will leave with a box of truffles. Tickets cost $40.

Wednesday, August 25:

Thursday, August 26: AV Night Trivia at Crum Box Gastgarden begins at 7:30 PM. Team tables are $20 and registration is required.

Friday, August 27:

Saturday, August 28: The Sundown Concert Series continues with Two Foot Level and Slow Low Crow will perform at the stage in Cascades Park. The concert begins at 7 PM. A free ticket is needed for entry, BYO food and drinks. Masks are required.

In Albany, Georgia the Flint River Habitat’s Hammer Jam will begin at 5:30 PM. It’s located at 1500 Dawson Road, Albany. Three bands will play :Kinchafoonee Cowboys, Bo Henry Band, and Riley Anderson. There will also be auctions, raffles, food, and drinks available. 100% of the proceeds go towards Flint River Habitat for Humanity. Tickets are $25-30. VIP tables are available.

The Junior Ranger Jamboree begins at 10AM. This is the Florida State Parks festival for kids that teach about the parks and wildlife within. Kids can become Junior Rangers and earn prizes. Admission to the event is free with entry fee to Maclay Gardens State Park ($4-6).

The Tallahassee Beer Festival will be held at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center beginning at 2 PM. Tickets cost $25-30. There will be over 75 brewers and breweries present with over 200 different ciders, ales, meads, and sparkling sodas.
