Events in Tallahassee, Florida for June 2020

Some of the Farmer’s Markets are active whilst others are not. Please check before heading out.

Hurricane Season is beginning. The City of Tallahassee has a 3 step advice guide.

June 04: Tallahassee Museum and Dr. Timothy Colston host a virtual lecture titled “Uncovering the Herpetofauna of Abyssinia: Reptiles and Amphibians in Ethiopia, the Land of People” as part of its Museum Mixology series. It begins at 6:00 PM and registration is required.

The Brown Goose Trio, 5-8 PM at Andrew’s Downtown.

June 05: Virtual First Friday at Railroad Square Art District; begins at 6:00 PM

Mickee Faust Presents -The Pride Inside: A Streaming Stand-Up Comedy Showcase. It begins at 9:30 PM.

June 05 is also National Donut Day!

Donut Kingdom – First 200 people get a free donut. After that there is a free donut with any purchase.

June 06: Night Prowl at the Tallahassee Museum. 7-8:30 PM. $9-12.

Blueberry Picking at Green Meadows Farm in Monticello. $5/lb. groups under 10 people, masks are required for face-to-face contacts. Cash/checks only.

Movie Night Under The Stars at Island Wing Company 7:30-11:00 PM. Tickets are $3-20. The movie is Pretty Woman. Seating is reservation only and follows social distancing guidelines.

June 07: Bach Parley’s online concert featuring Valerie Arsenault. 2:30 PM live chat on Facebook. 3:00 PM live concert.

June 08: LeMoyne Art’s Virtual Summer Camp begins. The theme is “Explore Russia” with Wassily Kandinsky (through June 12th). Registration required. Done through zoom.

Leadership Toastmasters Club at 12:00 PM. A free virtual event.

June 10: Budget and Money Management with Heidi Copeland (Accredited Financial Counselor) and the Leon County Library. 6 PM. Virtual zoom meeting.

         

June 11: Night Prowl at the Tallahassee Museum. 7-8:30 PM. $9-12.

First day of the (virtual) Florida Animation Festival hosted by The Tallahassee Film Society and The Pod Advertising.

June 12: (Possible, dates may change, this is the earliest option) The Welcome Back Event at The Brass Tap-Midtown Tallahassee. Must be 21+. Please check the updates for the actual date.

June 13: Virtual Pop-Up Book Club. The book is Little Women. Hosted by LeRoy Collins Leon County Library. 10:00-11:00 AM.

June 15: Lemonade Day’s Best Stand Contest ends. Virtual Contest for kids (pre-K -12th grade) for young entrepreneurship. There is a $100 prize.

LeMoyne’s Summer Camp featuring India begins. Registration required

June 16: Father’s Day Barbecue Lunch at Mission San Luis. Reservations (850-245-6406). $20-26.

June 17: City Commission Meeting. 3-7 PM. Virtual Meeting.Previous meetings are on their Youtube page.

June 18: Virtual Gentle Chair Yoga from 12:00-1:00 PM. Via Goodwoods Museum. Register for the free event here.

June 19: Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra at Home: Many concerts available.

June 20: Annie Get Your Glue Gun Virtual Crafter’s Meetup hosted by LeRoy Collins Leon County Library. 1:00-2:00 PM. Via Zoom.

Lauren Mullinax performing at Andrew’s Downtown. 5:00 PM-8:00 PM.

June 21: Young (Adult) At Heart Book Club, Zoom Meeting. Hosted by LeRoy Collins Leon County Library. 3:00-4:00 PM. The book of choice is The Girl In Between by Laekan Zea Kemp.

June 22: LeMoyne Art’s Summer Camp series week number four features France

Camp Challenger begins. “Minecraft Geology”. This is for kids who have completed grades K-5.

June 23: Southern Shakespeare Company’s online “Bardlings Quarantine Showcase”. Virtual Home Performance Series (many videos).

June 24: Midtown Reader Book Club. Book is Severance by Ling Ma. 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held over zoom. Registration required.

June 26: Hiroya Tsukamoto is performing at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church at 7:00 PM.

June 27: Artopia – now online auction and Facebook live event. Early bidding then Facebook live from 5:45-7 PM. Artopia funds Big Ben Cares’ Client Services Department

June 29: June’s Green Drinks with Mary O’Brien (speaker) and Sustainable Tallahassee (host). Facebook Live event (starts at 6:00 PM).
