Things To Do This Weekend (June 21-23, 2019)

HIGHLIGHTS

Friday, June 21

International Day of Yoga at Discovery Fields (Cascades Park) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. There will be vendors and a demonstration led by Suzanne Harrell (Journeys in Yoga) and Brittani Whittington (Hot Yoga Tallahassee). This is a “BYOM” (Bring Your Own Mat) event. This is a free event.

Taller Trees are playing at Proof Brewing Company starting at 8:00 PM and Revival is playing at Fifth and Thomas starting at 9:30 PM.

Tallahassee Hispanic Theater is showing its second annual micro theater festival over the course of two days. Starting Friday at 7:30 PM at Goodwood Museum. There will be five short plays, live music and food (for purchase). Tickets are $15 (adults) or $12 (students and seniors).

Saturday, June 22

Frenchtown and Downtown Markets are occurring today.

Blueberry Party at Blue Sky Berry Farm. Finn and the Kingsnake will play and there will be a food truck there as well. It starts at 6:00 PM and lasts until 9:30 PM. Blue Sky Berry Farm is located in Monticello, Florida.

Tallahassee Roller-girls (TLH Capitol Punishment) is playing against the Savannah Derby Devils. The game starts at 7:00 PM at Tallahassee Indoor Sports (130 Four Points Way). Tickets are $12 (adult) or $5 (student).

Artopia at The Civic Center. It begins at 7:00 PM and ends at 10:00 PM. Artopia is a fundraiser for Big Bend Cares; local and regional artists have donated about 300 pieces of work that is available for purchase. Tickets are $25.

Sunday, June 23

Sunday is the last day to see the exhibit “Surf’s Up” at the Museum of Florida History from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM. This event will occur all weekend. The Museum is located at 500 S. Bronough Street. The exhibit shows the history of surfing in Florida and features trophies, surfboards and an interactive surfing game. Admission is free to the museum and to the exhibit.

The Next Week, June 24-27

June 25: Stranger Things Trivia Night at Madison Social starts at 6:30 PM. Reservations are recommended.

June 26: Pure Barre Fitness Class at Hearth and Soul (1410 Market Street). The class is free, but spaces must be reserved (850-894-SOUL), please bring your own mat. The class starts at 5:45 PM.

June 27: Food Truck Thursday at Lake Ella starts at 5:30 PM. Music this week is Below the Dam (starts at 6:30 PM. Entry is free, dogs (on leashes) are allowed.
