Friday, June 14

Two bands, Slow Low Crow and Augur Ridge, will be performing at Fifth and Thomas starting at 9 PM. There’s no cover and it’s ages 21+.



Saturday, June 15

Frenchtown Heritage Market and the Downtown Market begin in the morning (10 and 9 AM respectively).

Night Prowl at the Tallahassee Museum is a tour of nocturnal animals that live at the museum. It starts at 7:00 and ends at 8:30 PM. Tickets are $9 (members) or $12 (non-members) and must be purchased in advance. If you missed the deadline, Night Prowl will occur again on July 13, August 17, and September 14.


Tallahassee Soccer Club is playing AFC Mobile at the IM Fields (1021 St. Augustine Street). The Tallahassee Soccer Club is a (new) men’s semi-professional soccer team. They’re playing their home games at the old IM field by Doak. Tickets are $7.


The Sundown Concert Series is happening this Saturday. This is an ongoing concert series that ends in November. The music starts at 7 and ends at 10 PM. It is free and located at the amphitheater at Cascades Park. The event is free and food trucks will be on scene. The two bands are Blue Begonias and Lil' Grizzly Boogie Band. Parking might be an issue, so try and arrive early.


Sunday, June 16

The 69th Annual Watermelon Festival is happening all weekend but many events are occurring on Sunday. The events include a 5K, an antique car show, dog photo contest, a parade and an art show. More information can be found on the link above. The Festival is located in Monticello (north east of Tallahassee).

Story-time with ‘Dadpool’ at My Favorite Books, starting at 2 PM. This is for children, and all kids and YA books are on ‘buy two get one’ sale every Sunday in June.

The Next Week, June 17-20

June 18: Ashby Stiff’s Little Dinner Series: Journey Through The Rain Forest is from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. This event features food from South America and is $50. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

June 19: Women in Science at the Grove Museum. It’s being led by staff at the museum, Professor Kristine Harper (FSU) and Asst. Professor Jenelle Robinson (FAMU). It starts at 5:30 and ends at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5  and include program, supplies (for rock art), and light refreshments.

June 20: There’s a farmer’s market at Bannerman Crossings, from 3 to 7 PM. The Apalachee Chapter of the Florida Trail Association is leading a walk though the Miccosukee Greenway (Thorntail Trail Head). Dogs on leash are allowed. It begins at 5 PM. Information, sign up and other directives are in the link above. The Chapter does various walks each week.
