Things To Do This Weekend (June 7-9, 2019)

Highlights

Friday, June 7

First Friday in Tallahassee is located at Railroad Square Art Park from 6 PM to 9 PM. Shops stay open late.

First Friday in Thomasville, Georgia begins at 6 PM and ends at 10 PM. The concert band is Grains of Sand and they’ll be performing at The Ritz Amphitheater (131 South Stevens Street). Shops will be open late.



Saturday, June 8

Downtown Market (117 E. Park Avenue) features produce, arts and crafts and music. It starts at 9 AM and ends at 2 PM. Other markets include the Frenchtown Market (524 North Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) and the Brickyard Farmer’s Market (The Center of Tallahassee).


Delta Moon is playing at the Bradfordville Blues Club. It starts at 9 PM.


Sunday, June 9

There’s a Tomato Festival at Goodwoods Museum and Gardens, it begins at 2 PM and ends at 6 PM. There is a tomato sale, cake walk, raffle, games, a homegrown tomato competition and a live band. This is part of the Red Hills Small Farm Alliance. It is $10 for adults, $5 for kids 13-17 years of age and free for children under 13. Tickets can be bought at the links above.


The Next Week, June 10-13

Wednesday, June 12: Paul Harvey and Haden Macbeth are playing at Bird’s Aphrodisiac Oyster Shack on North Bronough. The concert begins at 6 PM and ends at 8 PM. Comedy begins later in the night. There’s no cover.

Thursday, June 13: Leon County Library , Friends of the Library and Midtown Reader are hosting the author, Mary Alice Monroe, at the main branch of the library on Park Avenue. The event begins at 6 PM and ends at 8 PM. Also on Thursday, Food Truck Thursday at Lake Ella is happening. This Thursday, the band is Sawmill Jam. The event kicks off at 5:30 and ends at 8:30 PM.
