Friday, October 25: Symphony Spooktacular at the Capital City Amphitheater in Cascades Park begins at 7:00 PM. The Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra will perform ‘spooky’ music from Thriller to Ghostbusters. Trick-or-treating begins at 6:00 PM (for children) and there will be food trucks on site. This is a free event and costumes are welcomed. Please see here for parking, here for the rhythm trolly and here for seating. Arrive early for the best placements.

Brian Smalley is performing at the Blue Tavern beginning at 8:00 PM. The cover is $5.

The Slam Allen Band is performing at Bradfordville Blues Club beginning at 9:00 PM. The cover is $20-25.

Friday Night’s Block Party, in Collegetown, begins at 5 PM. The featured musical act is the James Barker Band.

Godby High School is hosting its annual Haunted Auditorium on Friday and Saturday. The price is $10-15.

Halloween Howl, located at the Tallahassee Museum from 6 PM to 10 PM, is tonight and continues Saturday. Activities for all ages and a haunted trail for older kids and adults, costumes welcome. Tickets are $10-15.

Saturday, October 26: Many Farmer’s Markets in town start in the morning at 9 or 10 AM.

Sustainable Tallahassee is hosting the 9th Annual Trash Dash 5K at Apalachee Regional Park. The entry fee is $0-15 and begins at 8:30 AM with a 7:30 AM registration. They’re having a recycling bin on-site for your used running shoes for reuse donation.

The Monarch Festival, also sponsored by Sustainable Tallahassee, is being held at St. Marks Wildlife Refuge in Wakulla County. The festival begins at 10 AM and ends at 4 PM.

The last day of the Coton Colors Warehouse sale is today. It begins at 8 AM and ends at noon.

The HallowQueen Showcase is being performed at Fifth and Thomas beginning at 7:00 PM. The cover is $10-15.

Close by, Monticello’s Florida Ghostly Tales and Haunted Trails Walking Tour takes place in different locals around Monticello. Reservations are recommended.

Also, Elevate Artisan Market, with 125 vendors (handcrafted items only), begins at 10:00 AM. There is no entry. Food stalls are onsite. The location is at Maisie Daze Fleecery, in Cairo, Georgia. There are alpacas.





Sunday, October 27: Goodwoods Museum is hosting the Fall Family Festival beginning at 3:00 PM. Hayrides, crafts, kids’ activities, cookies and lemonade are offered. Costumes and blankets are encouraged. The event is free.

FSU’s Flying Circus is performing it’s last Halloween Show of the season. This is the eleventh year they’ve performed a Halloween Show. It begins at 7 PM and tickets are $7-18.

FSU’s Theater School’s last performance of Chicago is today at 2 PM. Tickets are $5-25.

The Longest Table, presented by City of Tallahassee, Leon County, Leadership Tallahassee, and The Village Square, begins at 5:30 PM. This event is in its fourth year and is meant for citizens to come together and have a conversation about how to make Tallahassee better. Registration is required but the event is free. This event was also featured on CNN.

Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express is being performed at Theatre Tallahassee. Tickets are $15-25. The play runs through November 09.

Tuesday, October 29: Lofty Pursuits is showing The Creature from the Black Lagoon in 3D. There will also be a costume contest. The special drink of the night is the ‘Ginger Yip’ and the event begins at 6:30 PM. The movie and costume contest is free.

Poe’s Fright Night is taking place at Goodwood Museum. Visitors will enjoy a spooky reception followed by four readings ranging from The Raven to Tell-Tale Heart. It begins at 7:30 PM and tickets are $25.

The Blue Tavern is showing silent movies with live accompaniment. Buster Keaton’s One Week (1920) and Charlie Chaplin’s The Vagabond (1916) are the two films being shown. Jack Quine is playing the piano along with the films. The cover is $2 and the event begins at 8:30 PM.



Wednesday, October 30: Cap City Video Lounge is hosting an encore presentation of Nosferatu featuring sounds by Burlap Productions. Screening begins at 7 PM and there is no cover.

The Tallahassee Film Society is presenting The Creature From The Black Lagoon at All Saints Cinema. Bruce Mozert will give a short presentation, as he was the photographer of many of the production photos. Screening begins at 7 PM and the cost is $6.

Sinister Soirée, held at the Edison Restuarant, is a Gala being hosted by Word of South and The Kearney Center. Tickets are $70-125. The event begins at 7:30 PM. A costume content, celebrity DJs, appetizers and drinks are included in the ticket price.

Thursday, October 31:
FSU’s Museum of Fine Arts is presenting Fright Night at the Museum. This is a free event that begins at 6 PM. Costumes are welcome and candy will be given out. The Elemental Iceland exhibit will be open during the event.

FSU’s Opera is performing Heinrich Marschner's Der Vampyr (The Vampire) beginning tonight (and continuing until November 02). Tickets are $10-25 with the performance beginning at 7:30. An optional pre-opera lecture will be presented one hour before each performance in WES 060.
